resistance and melody

I shake my camera at illuminants such as city lights and the setting sun as I release the shutter. Photography has a mission to capture the object in clear view. In a digital image, it means to transfer parts of an object into specific pixels, therefore it prohibits the object from moving. Video media achieves expressing movements by using a time axis. Although the object appears to be moving by switching frames, it is merely a visual effect. In blurred pictures, the object exceeds the pixels’ boundaries purposefully to translate movements to a single image.
There are two themes I find through this attempt. One is “resistance”. The object exceeding the boundary of particular pixels seems to resist being captured within a particular spot, indicating the possibility of life within the object. The other theme is “melody”.The city lights are flashing at an unseen rate. The movement of the photographer’s hand adds a curve to the lines of rhythm and turn into melodies.
